Pantai Morib is a great holiday destination located near Simpang Morib, about 10km from the town of Banting. It is a pleasant and peaceful place where everyone can relax and enjoy by the ocean. It is a famous tourist attraction, thus also known as Malaysia's Gold Coast. It has a beach frontage around 22 km long placed facing the Straits of Malacca. The sea between Indonesia and Malaysia has been sheltered by the land and it block the wind and high waves, so they have calm waves and it is considered quite safe. The seafront has been made into a promenade with a recreational park, equipped with facilities such as gazebos, playgrounds, walkways and a food court, while shaded by lush trees growing along grassy fields. There are also a couple of hotels near that area, including Morib Gold Coast, a large resort development along the coast, which is around 7km away.
History
Pantai Morib is one of the first landing points on the west coast for the British and Indian Army liberation forces during the end of World War 2 in 1945. Near Banting is a place called Bandar Jugra. Jugra is a historical town and also the former royal town in the state of Selangor. The ruins of old government buildings and the royal graves are located here, including mausoleums, mosques and an abandoned palace from the 1800s. Therefore, if you are looking for a historical place, this is the place to be.
Human Interactions
There are several human activities happening in Pantai Morib. People come to the beach for a picnic or just to have fun. There are also buildings along the coast which shows that there are people living in that area. The promenade offers facilities such as public bathrooms, a playground for kids and food stalls. However, they also caused some issues such as littering and pollution. When people don't clean up their trash after they are done, their are causing litter to increase around that area. Due to wind as well as low and high tides, the rubbish might get caught by the waves, polluting the ocean with all the trash.
